Dave Thorpe is a British motocross rider who won the World Championship three times. He claimed his first title in 1985, and retained it in 1986 having battled all season against his team-mate. Injuries meant that Thorpe could not make a title challenge in 1987 & 1988 but he won the world title again in 1989. Dave Thorpe retired from professional motocross in 1993.
